The entire book rhymes with itself. The main character creates a unified theory of time where past and future are merged, while the author narrates the story by going back and forth between past time and future time.
The characters and environments reveal so much about human nature, the good and bad things to take away from capitalism, anarchy and communism.
The story shows what love looks like, what commitment to a partner is like and what fatherhood is like. Most importantly, it shows what doing your duty in the face of disaproval looks like.
It critiques some aspects of the real world, like environmental-collapse.
It contrasts profit and brotherhood, markets and humanism, profit and human flourishing.
On the side of capitalism, it critiques profit, ownership, money and fakeness. On the side of anarchy, it critiques the mob mentality, the close mindedness, the tribal thinking.
Beautiful book that brings all these themes together with beautiful and pragmatic prose.
